You Asked, We Listened

In June of 2014, Wenatchee's library staff launched a community survey to gather ideas and develop a plan for the library's future. Every response we received helped guide us toward our vision of providing an environment where people can come to enrich their lives.

With over 300 responses, we were able to design a plan for the building that addresses nearly every identified need, while remaining true to what we are at our core: your public library.

Top 5 changes you asked for:
  • Technology integrated throughout the building.
  • Small meeting rooms and designated quiet areas.
  • A café-like community space.
  • More space for books and materials, with more seating throughout the building.
  • User-friendly layout with signs and maps of where to find materials.

"Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life. Libraries change lives for the better."
- Sidney Sheldon

"To ask why we need libraries at all, when there is so

much information available elsewhere, is about as sensible
as asking if roadmaps are necessary now that there
are so very many roads."
- Jon Bing
